Stainless steel square tubes can be classified according to processing methods, cross-sectional shapes, materials, and performance characteristics, as follows:
1、 Classified by processing method
Seamless stainless steel square tube
Process: Stainless steel billets are directly processed into square tubes without welding joints through processes such as hot rolling perforation, cold rolling/cold drawing, etc.
Features: Smooth inner and outer surfaces, strong pressure bearing capacity, excellent corrosion resistance, but high production cost.
Application: High pressure boilers, petroleum cracking, chemical pipelines, and other fields that require extremely high pressure or corrosion resistance.
Welded stainless steel square tube
Process: Curl stainless steel strips and weld them into square tubes, which are divided into straight seam welded pipes and spiral welded pipes.
Features: High production efficiency, low cost, but strict inspection of weld quality is required.
Application: Low pressure fluid transportation, decoration, mechanical parts manufacturing and other scenarios.
2、 Classified by cross-sectional shape
square tube
Cross section: Square, with side lengths typically ranging from 5mm to 200mm and wall thickness from 0.4mm to 6.0mm.
Applications: Building structures, mechanical frames, decorative railings, etc.
rectangular tube
Cross section: rectangular, with specifications ranging from 40mm × 20mm to 200mm × 100mm, and a wall thickness of 0.4mm to 6.0mm.
Application: Mechanical parts, building support structures, etc. that require specific aspect ratios.
shaped tube
Cross section: semi-circular, hexagonal, equilateral triangle, octagonal, etc.
Applications: Special decorations, art installations, specific mechanical components, etc.
3、 Classified by material and performance characteristics
Martensitic stainless steel square tube
Material: such as 410 stainless steel.
Features: Good wear resistance, but poor corrosion resistance.
Application: Manufacturing mechanical parts that are wear-resistant but have low requirements for corrosion resistance.
Ferritic stainless steel square tube
Material: such as 409 stainless steel, 430 stainless steel.
Features: Moderate corrosion resistance and low cost.
Application: Automotive exhaust pipes, interior decorative parts, etc.
Austenitic stainless steel square tube
Material: such as 304 stainless steel, 316 stainless steel.
Features: Excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties, widely used.
Applications: Building decoration, food machinery, medical equipment, chemical pipelines, etc.
Duplex stainless steel square tube
Material: such as 2205 stainless steel, 2507 stainless steel.
Features: Combining the advantages of austenite and ferrite, it has high strength and excellent corrosion resistance.
Applications: fields such as ocean engineering, chemical engineering, petroleum and natural gas.
Precipitation hardening stainless steel square tube
Material: High strength obtained through heat treatment.
Characteristics: High strength, but corrosion resistance may be slightly lower than austenitic stainless steel.
Application: Mechanical parts with high strength requirements, aerospace field, etc.
